  1961 - Because expansion in the AL is pushed up a year earlier than expected     
   in order to keep a team in Washington, the Angels are forced to play in Outfield:  
   relatively tiny Wrigley Field in LA for a year. Albie Pearson (13.14) -     40

  1961 - The Angels accumulate a bunch of excellent youngsters out of the Leon Wagner (6.52) -     28

  as a twenty  three year old and wins the Cy Young 1969 - Owner Gene Autry is fed up with losing and gets rid of manager   
     Bill Rigney and GM Fred Haney, hiring GM Dick Walsh and   
    manager Lefty Phillips. GM Fred Haney had built a competitive club,  
    but was having a difficult time trying to maintain the early success.  
    Rigney was Haney's guy, Walsh brought in his own guy to manage.
