  McClellan and Chris Carpenter all post double figure win totals and   
  Fernando Salas has a good year as closer.  2018 - OF Marcell Ozuna, 27, is picked up from Miami in their firesale.  
   
  2012 - RHP Lance Lynn, 25, goes 18-7 as a rookie. He was a first round 2018 - RHP Jack Flaherty, 22, is a rookie. He was a 1st round pick in 2014.

  2018 - St. Louis's run numbers have been eerily consistent the three years  
  2012 - Closer Trevor Rosenthal, 22, is a rookie. He was a 21st round pick in '09   after they were last a contender in 2015. That being said,  the Cards  
   slight improvement to 88 wins in 2018 can be attributed to a slight  
  2012 - RHP Shelby Miller, 21, debuts, he was the 19th overall pick in '09   improvement in runs given up. That improvement can be attributed to the   
  emergence of twenty nine year old journeyman righthander Miles Mikolas  
  2013 - RHP Michael Wacha, 21, is a rookie. He was the 19th overall pick in '12  who went 18-4 with a 2.83 ERA. His previous major league experience  
     had been brief stints with the Padres and the Rangers early in the decade.  
  2012 - St. Louis is a wild card and makes it to the NLCS before losing  In between, Mikolas spent three successful seasons in Japan improving  
   to the Giants  his craft. He learned how to mix up his pitches better, get ahead   
    of the hitters better and cut down on his walks while in Japan.   
  2013 - RHP Carlos Martinez, 21, debuts. He was an IFA in 2010  
  2019 - Slugging 1B Paul Goldschmidt, 31, is obtained in a deal with Arizona.  
  2013 - The Cardinals win the first of three consecutive Division titles.   
  They make it to the World Series where they lose to the Red Sox again. 2019 - RHP Dakota Hudson, 24, is a rookie. He was a 1st round pick in 2016.  
     
  2014 - Former 1st round pick Randal Grichuk, 22, is a rookie. He was 2019 - The Redbirds complete another highly successful decade with  
   picked up in a four player deal with Anaheim.  another Division title and a run to the NLCS where they lose to the eventual  
  World Champion Nats. St.Louis averages 90 wins over the decade with their  
   2014 - The Cardinals lose in the NLCS to the Giants for the second time worst season 83-79 in '17. Very consistent. The Cards made it to the post  
   in three years season six times, with one World Series title (2011). GM John Mozeliak, who  
  replaced legendary GM Walt Jocketty in 2007, had a legendary ten year  
  2015 - OF Steven Piscotty, 24, is a rookie. He was a first round pick in  run of his own until he was kicked upstairs to President in 2017.
