1990 - Things looked normally Indians-ish at the top of the nineties. They were a  Outfield:
below .500 team and continued to flounder for the first four years of the decade. Kenny Lofton (42.51) -   101
Little indication at this point that Cleveland would field one of the most potent Albert Belle (27.43) -   57
lineups in baseball history by 1995. GM Hank Peters had already been planting Manny Ramirez (25.17) -   55
the seeds of the Indians juggernaut when he arrived in 1987. His hand picked Brian Giles (7.61) -   18
successor, who also migrated from Baltimore, John Hart, would pick up the David Justice (9.06) -   16
ball as GM in 1992 and keep it rolling. Amazing what a good owner and quality Mark Whiten (4.88) -   10
front office folks can accomplish. The only fly in the ointment was that the
pitching never matched the everyday lineup and the Indians kept coming up Notable Events:
short in the post season. Nonetheless, Cleveland's was one of the most potent
and entertaining lineups ever assembled from the mid nineties to the end of the 1994 - Jacobs Field opens. It’s a beautiful retro ballpark and

   □ 1989 - Brian Giles, of, 17th round pick - execellent hitter who could not break 1994 -  The season is marred by the strike, the Indians are in
into the deep Cleveland lineup and was eventually dealt away in '98 for pitching  second place with a 66-47 record when it all ends.

Cleveland's circular lineup and was dealt to the Brewers in 2000 for pitching  the pennant. Cleveland loses the World Series in extra innings
   □ 1994 - Omar Vizquel, ss, stolen from Seattle in a deal for Felix Fermin. Great fielder in game seven to Florida
