I would have liked to have used pictures for all of the players listed in the decade pages in the uni of the team listed.
Unfortunately, there are copyright laws that allow me to do this only up thru the 1920's
Too bad, you missed out on a bunch of really nice colorized pics from the Thirties thru Fifties
I find the whole thing absurd, folks who were not even born at the time a picture was taken owning the rights, forever it seems, of allowing that picture to be seen.
For example, a picture was taken eighty years ago and, at the time, the copyright laws were seven years. The photographer, the person photographed, the owners of the
company who paid for the pictures are all long since dead and had no thoughts of letting someone who would not yet be born for decades control who could see the photo.
Plus, I, maybe, can see if a photo is an original and is a collector's item. But the photo's on web sites are digital copies that have zero intrinsic value.
Bizarre.
The pictures I do have on the site were colorized to breathe a little life into them.
