OF - Lastings Milledge, 25, 12th overall pick in '03, came in trade with

OF - Brandon Moss, 26, obtained in Jason Bay trade deadline deal in 2008   the Bucs descend back beneath .500. The pitching is the culprit as
with Boston and LA. The Pirates let Moss get away as he later developed  Pittsburgh scores their most runs since 2008. The starting pitching

Releiver - Joel Hanrahan, 29, obtained in trade with Washington in '09 JA Happ left as a free agent and went 20-4 with Toronto.

2013 - There were a number of high quality additions to the squad that helped put   3B Colin Moran, 26, part of '18 trade with Houston for Gerrit Cole
Pittsburgh over the top:    OF Bryan Reynolds, 24, part of '18 trade with SF for Andrew McCutchen
The Bucs sign lefthander Francisco Liriano, 29, as a free agent from the White Sox.    RHP Jose Musgrove, 26, part of '18 trade with Houston for Gerrit Cole

free agent contract down the road with New York, but at a cost of over 300 million.
Pittsburgh acquires closer Mark Melancon, 28, from Boston In a steal of a deal.
Melancon was part of a six player deal.
Catcher Russell Martin, 32, is picked up as a free agent from the Yankees.
Altho' his hitting has declined, his ability to handle a pitching staff hasn't.
He is a key to the success of the Pirate's pitching in 2013
