Seattle has spent pretty much the entire decade ('21-'25) either just missing the
playoffs ('21, '23, '24) or just squeaking inito the playoffs ('22 and '25) Notable Events:
They made it to the ALDS in '22 and the ALCS in '25),
The feeling coming into the '26 season is that the Mariners are ready for more. 2020 - Current ownership group led by John Stanton and Jeff Smulyan
Seattle was a bit better than average last year on both sides of the ball.  has owned the club since '16.  Ownership has stuck by GM Jerry DiPoto,
Their run totals projected an 88-74 record, they finished at 90-72. moving him up to team president in 2022, and manager Scott Servais, altho'
they let him go in '24 after nine years at the helm. Servais was replaced by
Starting Pitchers: Dan Wilson. The owners have not been a big spending team, but, on occasion
  □ RHP Logan Gilbert, 27, '18 draft 14th overall pick, '25 6-6 3.44 they've shown they can make a splash if they feel it is warranted. They
RHP Luis Castillo, 31, '22 trade deadline from Cincinnati, '25 11-8 3.54 have also been loyal to their management team which is a plus.
RHP George Kirby, 28, '19 draft 1st round pick, '25 10-8 4.21 In essence, they have shown good patience and have been rewarded with
RHP Bryan Woo, 26, '21 draft 6th round pick, '25 15-7 2.94 teams that consistently over .500. They just need to figure out how to take
RHP Bryce Miller, 25, '21 draft 4th round pick, '25 4-6 5.68 that next step to solid contender. They are not quite there yet.
    RHP Emerson Hancock, 25, '20 draft 6th overall pick, '25 4-5 4.90
    LHP Kade Anderson, 21, '25 draft 3rd overall pick, '25 NCAA 12-1 3.18
The top three are established starters: Woo, Castillo and Kirby. And there are
several intriguing candidates for the bottom two spots in the rotation:
Gilbert, Miller, Hancock and Anderson. The rotation should be a strength

  Relief Pitchers:
    Closer RHP Andres Munoz, 27, '20 Trade from SD, '25 3-3 1.73 38saves
    RHP Matt Brash, 28, '20 Trade from SD, '25 1-3 2.47
    LHP Gabe Speier, 31, '23 FA from KC, '25 4-3 2.61
    RHP Eduard Bazardo, 30, '23 Trade from Baltimore, '25 5-0 2.52
    RHP Carlos Vargas, 26, '24 Trade from Arizona, '25 5-5 3.97
    LHP Jose Ferrer, 26, '26 Trade from Washington, '25 4-4 4.48
    RHP Cooper Criswell, 29, '26 Trade from Mets, '25 1-0 3.57
The bullpen is excellent. Munoz was lights out as a closer with 38 saves and a
1.73 ERA. Brash, Speier and Bazardo all had ERAs in the middle twos.
Ferrer was picked up from Washington to get a little more lefty oomph into the pen.
Criswell and Vargas round out the deep bullpen. A strength.

  Regulars:
     Cal Raleigh, 29, '18 draft 3rd round pick, '25 60 125 .247
    1B Josh Naylor, 29, '25 Trade deadline from Arizona, '25 20 92 .295
  □ 2B Cole Young, 22, '22 draft 21st overall pick, '25 4 24 .211
  □ SS JP Crawford, 31, '19 Trade from Philadelphia, '25 12 58 .265

  □ SS Colt Emerson, 20, '23 draft 22nd overall pick, '25 A-AA-AAA 16 78 .285
  □ SS Michael Arroyo, 21, '22 IFA, '25 AA 17 54 .262
The offense improved considerably last year as C Cal Raleigh went nuts with 60
homers. Let's see how close he gets to that in '26. Twenty five year old stud
Julio Rodriguez is inching his way towards superstardom and he and Raleigh
are as good a middle lineup pair as you will find in baseball. Add Josh Naylor
who came over in a deadline deal, impressed, and then signed a contract with the
Mariners, and makes it a Big Three. And all three are under thirty years old.
Add to them Arozarena, Donovan and Crawford and now you've got a potent
lineup. That leaves the bottom three spots which has some intriguing candidates
in youngsters Arroyo, Emerson, Canzone, Young and Williamson,
Veteran Rob Refsnyder might slip in if not all the youngsters are ready.
All in all, hitting should be a strength of this team.
