    This hurts as MacPhail's replacement, Terry Ryan, takes several years   
  1991 - Hard hitting twenty six year old DH Chili Davis is signed as a free agent to get his mojo going and the Twins flounder in the interim.  
       
  1991 - Minnesota signs pitcher Jack Morris as a Free Agent. No one thinks  1995 - Righthander Brad Radke comes up at the age of twenty two.  
  that this signing is of much significance at the time as Morris was thirty six He was an eighth round pick in the 1991 draft  
   years old coming off a 15-18 year with Detroit.    
    1996 - Future Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett is forced to retire with glaucoma  
  1991 - The Twins roller coaster ride thru baseball history continues    
  as they gain twenty one games in the standings and win the Division. 1997 - Centerfielder Torii Hunter, 21, is a rookie. He was a first  
  Minnesota goes on to beat the Blue Jays in the ALCS and the Braves in the  round pick in the 1993 draft

   Frank Viola. Other contributors to both mini-runs were catcher Brian Harper, year old lefthander Eric Milton and twenty one year old shortstop   
   shortstop Greg Gagne, and outfielder Dan Gladden  Cristian Guzman in a steal of a deal for the Twins.  
     
   1992 - 27 year old lefty John Smiley is picked up from the Pirates in a deal for 1999 - Lefthander Johan Santana is stolen from the Marlins in   
   23 year old lefty Denny Neagle. Neagle was a hot prospect, but the Twins exchange for Jared Camp  
    needed Smiley to keep them on top. He wins 16 games.    
   The Bucs dealt Smiley away because he was in his free agent walk year. 1999 - Outfielder Jacque Jones, 24, is brought up as a rookie. He  
   Smiley leaves the Twins after the season.  was a second round pick in the 1996 draft.
